Welcome to Emmanuel E. C. Church!
Who We Are
Emmanuel is a community of people who love God and desire to make His love real to those in our community. We believe the Bible is God’s truth and guidebook for life and that Jesus Christ came to restore our broken relationship with God and with others. Our desire is to help everyone experience the fullness of life and hope that is available through Jesus. We offer many community ministries in addition to our Sunday services and Bible classes for adults, teens, and kids.
What is the church community like?
Emmanuel is a friendly, engaging community of people that quickly makes everyone feel accepted and loved! We come from many different backgrounds and range from families with young children, to college-aged singles and young professionals, to “empty-nesters,” all the way up to our senior adults. Though our backgrounds may be diverse, we are growing together in love for God and others.
What are our Sunday mornings like?
Christian living & education (Sunday School) classes are offered from 9:30 – 10:20 am. Refreshments for all are available from 10:20 – 10:45. Our Praise Team (guitars, drums, keyboard, etc.) opens the 10:45 am service with a mix of contemporary music and hymns. Piano and even our historic organ are occasionally mixed in as well! In-depth Bible teaching is offered that frequently begins with the historical context of the Bible passages, then moves toward the meaning and daily application of the messages to our lives. Our hope in everything we do is to help you experience the love of God and to encourage you in your spiritual journey.
SUMMER SCHEDULE: Our Sunday mornings are modified over the summer (July & August) by offering a single, 10 am service. (Christian Education classes are suspended.)
How long is it?
Our Sunday service normally runs 60-75 minutes. Since we begin at 10:45 am, you can expect to be done by approximately 12:00 pm.
What about kids?
Emmanuel offers programs for children from infant through to young adult.
For children under the age of two, our nursery program is available during both our Sunday School period and church services. Christian living classes (Sunday School) are available as well for those aged two through to first grade, in grades two through fifth, and for middle & high school youth.
After Sunday School, parents can bring their parents to our Fellowship Hall for some light refreshments prior to everyone coming together for the start of our 11 am service.
Children are included in the early part of our Sunday service, during our singing and “worship” time. They are then dismissed to be part of our Children’s Church program where age-appropriate crafts and Bible stories will be part the experience of learning about the God who loves them.
Is there a dress code?
Let’s skip the rules! Emmanuel wants you to grow closer to God and to others so how you dress is not a factor in that. We do not have a specific dress code. Be comfortable but respectful. On any Sunday, you will see men wearing anything from jeans and an open-collar shirt to dress slacks and a tie. Women as well might wear anything from jeans to slacks, or even a dress. The choice of fashion is yours. Out of courtesy for others, we would simply request your dress be modest with no writing or images that may be considered offensive.
What if I’m not a Christian?
Come and see! Jesus said others would know He is real by the love we share. At Emmanuel, you will find a caring and “real” community of people who will respect where you’re at in your spiritual journey. We will offer you not simply our perspective on God and religion but the example of our lives and the love God lived out. You then decide!
