THE MINISTRIES OF EMMANUEL
Christian Education & Sunday School
Emmanuel offers Christian Education & Sunday School programs for children and adults. Bible studies and various topics of interest are offered from 9:30-10:30 each Sunday. NURSERY is available for children age 0-2 during both Sunday School and the morning service. Classes are provided for: (1) Age 3 through 1st grade, (2) grades 2 through 5, Junior & Senior High School. Several adult classes and groups are offered each quarter with the following beginning in September:
A relationship with God is often described in the Bible as a “journey” or a “walk!” And, though it’s a journey we must choose individually, God has provided fellowship for us along the way. He has given us His “family” of brothers and sisters to encourage and strengthen us, and to walk side-by-side with us on the path.
A variety of small groups are offered at Emmanuel to help you in your Christian walk. These include classes conducted through the year as part of our Christian Growth & Education program. Classes meet either on Sunday morning, from 9:30-10:20 am or Wednesday evening, from 7 – 8 pm. Come, join us! …and experience God’s gift of fellowship and mutual encouragement by participating in one of our Winter-Spring 2018 Christian Growth Groups. Here’s a quick summary of our current and upcoming offerings –

A Children’s Church program is offered for kids from Kindergarten through 4th grade. The morning begins with the children in our main service with their parents. Here, they get to experience worship and prayer as part of the church “at-large.” We see this is an important component in their spiritual growth — they can both witness and participate in the spiritual activities of their parents and of the church family to which they belong. This is also the time in our service where we may share what God is doing in our lives (“testimonies”), talk about upcoming activities or events of the church, or perhaps celebrate someone. It’s “family-time” in the presence of our Father! About mid-way through the service, children in this age group are then dismissed to our Children’s Church where the gospel message is taught in “kid-friendly” language and object lessons. It is their “special time” to learn about God’s truths, ask questions, and talk about the lesson with their teachers and other kids.
Psalm 66:1,2 – “Shout for joy to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give to Him glorious praise!”
Emmanuel has several opportunities for using your musical gifts to minister to both God and to others:
Praise Team – Emmanuel’s Praise Team helps set the atmosphere for our worship through song and music. This team of gifted musicians and vocalists ministers to God by leading the congregation into genuine praise and worship which honors God and prepares hearts and minds for the Holy Spirit’s transforming work.
Choir – Once a month and at both Christmas and Easter, our choir brings a special level of artistry and beauty to our worship service. Their voices harmonizing together remind us that we are part of a community of people from all nations who worship God with one heart, in spirit and in truth.
Piano & Organ – Emmanuel includes piano and our historic pipe organ as part of special services and as focus music.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Prayer Team – Prayer ministry meets each Weds evening to seek God on behalf of His work and the needs of others. Teams intercede for needs of the community, church members and their family and friends, ministries of the church, and our nation.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry (Prayer Chain) – The Intercessory Prayer Ministry of Emmanuel is a network of people who intercede before God for the needs of others. The prayer ministry responds to requests for prayer coming to the church through telephone calls, email, or other means. Please contact the church office if YOU have need for prayer!
Dart-Baseball League – Emmanuel is one of 12 churches participating in the Suburban Inter-Church Dart Baseball League. The sole purpose of the league is to promote and advance Christian fellowship and friendly competition through games of dart baseball, among churches of all denominations, by players of all ages. Games are held at the various churches within the league at 7:30 pm. Check out our calendar on our “What’s Happening at Emmanuel” page or the League website for game locations…
